"I made this apple cake one chilly night when I needed to use up some leftover applesauce and sweetened condensed milk. It makes a soft, moist cake that is healthy--it has no oil or butter and only one egg. The addition of oats make it more nutritious. This recipe can also be made into muffins. "

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 8x8 inch square baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 2
In a food processor or blender, grind oats to a medium consistency, set aside.
Step 3
In a large bowl mix applesauce, milk and egg with a wire whisk.
Step 4
Add all the flour, oats and spices. Fold in, until everything is incorporated.
Step 5
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Step 6
Let sit 10 minutes before cutting into squares and serving. Can be served warm or at room temperature.
