Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 13x9 inch pan and set aside.
Step 2
Combine 4 squares of chocolate and 1 cup butter in a large saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring until chocolate and butter melt. Remove from heat.
Step 3
In a medium bowl, combine 2 cups sugar, flour, and salt. Add to the melted chocolate mixture. Add the eggs and pecans, stir until blended.
Step 4
Spoon the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Step 5
While the brownies are baking, combine the 2 squares of chocolate, milk and 1/2 cup butter in a heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring often, until chocolate and butter melt. Remove from heat and transfer to a medium bowl.
Step 6
Stir in the vanilla. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating at low speed of an electric mixer until frosting is smooth.
Step 7
When the brownies come out of the oven, sprinkle marshmallows evenly over the warm brownies. Quickly pour frosting over the marshmallows, spreading evenly.
Step 8
Let cool and cut into bars. Makes two dozen brownies.
