Step 1

Get out a small saucepan. Add sugar and water. Mix together and cook on medium to high heat.

Step 2

Bringing to a boil, cook for approximately 3 minutes. Cook until syrupy.

Step 3

Pour into a small bowl with a lid and cool for 10 minutes.

Step 4

Add the lime zest and juice.

Step 5

Cover and chill in the refrigerator.

Step 6

In a large bowl, mix the lime syrup and the melons.

Step 7

Note: if using, add the cayenne pepper when serving. It gets hotter upon sitting.
