  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 4 cups cubed watermelon
  • 4 cups seeded and cubed honeydew
  • 4 cups seeded and cubed cantaloupe
  • 1/8 -1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Get out a small saucepan. Add sugar and water. Mix together and cook on medium to high heat.

  • Step 2: Bringing to a boil, cook for approximately 3 minutes. Cook until syrupy.

  • Step 3: Pour into a small bowl with a lid and cool for 10 minutes.

  • Step 4: Add the lime zest and juice.

  • Step 5: Cover and chill in the refrigerator.

  • Step 6: In a large bowl, mix the lime syrup and the melons.

  • Step 7: Note: if using, add the cayenne pepper when serving. It gets hotter upon sitting.
