Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix the meatball mix

Step 2

Make golf ball size meatballs with the ground beef mixture.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet over medium/high heat.

Step 4

Add the butter and oil and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove the browned meatballs to a plate.

Step 5

TO MAKE THE SAUCE:

Add the mushrooms and onions to the same skillet and saute for 3-4 minutes

Step 7

The beef stock, cream of mushroom soup, apple cider vinegar, caraway seeds, sour cream, and salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

Step 8

Reduce the heat to low and add the meatballs back into the skillet turning them in the sauce coat.

Step 9

Cover the skillet and simmer the meatballs in the sauce for 15 minutes on low.

Step 10

To serve, spoon the sauce over the meatballs and garnish with chopped fresh parsley

Comfort! This has all those flavors that are belly and soul pleasing. Adored the caraway seeds here. By error, I added parsley to the meatballs, but it worked well and I think I wouldn't change it. Would work great with mashed potatoes or egg noodles, but we had it with potato pancakes and carrots and it was quite yummers. Thank you, Dee, for sharing. Made it "For your Consideration" tag game.
