Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Meatballs:
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • ½ cup red onion,minced
  • 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
  • 1/4 ounce heavy cream,(2 tablespoons )
  • 2 tablespoons stone ground mustard
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Sauce:
  • 8 ounces mushrooms,sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 can (10 ounces)cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons caraway seeds
  • 8 ounces sour cream ,(3/4 cup)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper,to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley,minced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix the meatball mix

  • Step 2: Make golf ball size meatballs with the ground beef mixture.

  • Step 3: Heat a large skillet over medium/high heat.

  • Step 4: Add the butter and oil and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove the browned meatballs to a plate.

  • Step 5: TO MAKE THE SAUCE:

  • Step 6: Add the mushrooms and onions to the same skillet and saute for 3-4 minutes

  • Step 7: The beef stock, cream of mushroom soup, apple cider vinegar, caraway seeds, sour cream, and salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

  • Step 8: Reduce the heat to low and add the meatballs back into the skillet turning them in the sauce coat.

  • Step 9: Cover the skillet and simmer the meatballs in the sauce for 15 minutes on low.

  • Step 10: To serve, spoon the sauce over the meatballs and garnish with chopped fresh parsley
