Step by Step Method
Step 1
Cream shortening with sugar. Add egg.
Step 2
Dissolve baking soda in a little hot water with the vanilla, salt and maple syrup
Step 3
Sift together flour and baking powder.
Step 4
Add to creamed mixture
Step 5
Drop by teaspoonful onto greased pan.
Step 6
Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes or lightly browned.
