"These are nice on the holiday cookie tray. NOTE: Do not use lowfat margarine. Mapleine, made by Crescent, is a good maple flavor, or look for maple extracts in health food stores. Makes 3 dozen."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325-degrees. Lightly coat baking sheets with nonfat cooking spray.

Step 2

Cream the sugar and butter at medium speed of a mixer until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).

Step 3

Add extracts, egg, egg white; beat well.

Step 4

Combine flour, baking soda, and spices; stir well. Gradually add to creamed mixture, beating well.

Step 5

Drop dough by level tablespoons onto baking sheets.

Step 6

Bake 10 minutes; let cool on pans 1 minute, then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
