"This recipe can easily be turned into a vegetarian dish by omitting the bacon bits or by using the artificial bacon bits. A nice fresh tasting pasta dish I like making on those super-hot days when you don’t want to eat anything heavy. It has a nice lemony taste to it. I have used angel hair pasta and spaghettini noodles at times for this recipe which work well also. Make sure you use fresh lemon juice as the bottled stuff does not work well in this recipe."

I added 3 roma tomatoes and omitted the bacon altogether. We loved it!

This pasta dish is very satisfying! I far prefer "clean" pastas. Made as directed with one exception. I did not use any salt as the capers, cheese and bacon took care of that. There definately is a wonderful balance of flavours here. Yummy!! Thanks QueenBea for sharing. I can't wait to make this for the family!

This was an excellent dish that my friend and I really loved. I asked her if she liked it and she said.. "I have never had anything like this before. I am more a meat and potato kind of person, and I have only had pasta with spaghetti sauce. It was very good". I have to say it really hit the spot for me. I loved the mix of flavors and will have this on regular rotation at my house. It's a winner and a keeper! Thank you for sharing it with us Bea! Linda
