"The idea for this pie came from the TOH's Best Of Country Cooking 2015.The original recipe was sent to them by Virginia Olsen from West De Moines,Iowa. I didn't have all the ingredients her recipe called for,so I used what was on hand.If desired,serve warm with vanilla ice cream.Posted to " ZAZZ " on 1/17/16. " Keep Smiling :)"

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Step 2

Mix together topping ingredients until mixture is crumbly and set aside.

Step 3

Pour apple pie filling in the frozen pie crust and sprinkle topping ingredients evenly over apple filling.

Step 4

Bake for 10 minutes at 450 degrees.

Step 5

Then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 50 minutes or until crumble topping is golden brown and filling is bubbly.

My first intention was to make this complete pie, but ended up making my own filling and crust. I did however make the crumb topping using Earth Balance butter spread in place of the butter, the topping was very good. I still plan to make it easier on myself and make this complete pie. Thanks Lee!
