"A quick and easy appetizer that uses small rounds or thin sliced toasted baguettes and a spicy cheese dip; garnished with bacon, scallions, and jalapenos. These are easy to prepare - and just a quick toast under the broiler and serve. Great game day, party food, or just a light snack. These make about 36 appetizers, but you can easily cut this recipe in half. However, any dip that is leftover is wonderful with tortilla chips or vegetables for dipping; and will keep up to 1 week in the refrigerator. So it is best to make the whole batch if you can. This recipe has been around for quite a few years and it is a favorite with my friends."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Dip ... Add the cream cheese, mayonnaise, parmesan, green chilies, hot pepper sauce to a bowl and mix well. Make sure the cream cheese is softened. I like to use a hand mixture for this.

Step 2

Toppings ... Mix the bacon, jalapenos and scallions together in a small bowl.

Step 3

Bread ... You can do this on your grill or under the broiler. You want the bread lightly toasted on each side. These can also be done ahead of time. My grocery stores even sells toasted baguette slices in their bakery section which is convenient.

Step 4

Broil and Serve ... Spread the baguettes with the cheese mixture and broil 1-2 minutes until lightly golden brown and melted. Top with the bacon, jalapenos and scallions. ENJOY!
