Step by Step Method

In a saucepan

Combine the wine, lemon zest, lemon juice, sugar and cinnamon sticks.

Add the pears.

Bring this mixture to a boil over high heat.

Reduce to medium and poach the pears until the tip of a knife can easily be inserted.
