"This is a rich, decadent chocolate frosting. You can't taste the cream cheese, but it adds just the right touch to the chocolate flavor. Enough for a three layer or 11x17 sheet cake. For a two layer or 9x13 sheet cake, cut to 2 servings. For a single layer or 9x9 cake, but to 1 serving. Adapted from a magazine recipe."

In mixer, cream butter and cream cheese. Sift powdered sugar and cocoa into a separate bowl. Add dry ingredients a little at a time to creamed mixture, beating until well incorporated. Add vanilla and pecans, if desired.
