Step by Step Method
Step 1
Heat oil in large stock pot.
Step 2
Season beef lightly.
Step 3
Add bacon and cook it a bit.
Step 4
Saute the beef, carrots and onions together until onions are translucent.
Step 5
Add celery and mushrooms.
Step 6
Add garlic and the rest of ingredients.
Step 7
Simmer covered for an hour until lentils are cooked.
Step 8
Season to taste.
Step 9
Add cornstarch slurry at the end bring to a boil stirring a lot.
Step 10
Serve.
