"These onions are sweet and sour. They really add some zip to your hot dogs. Make the whole recipe or you'll be sorry that you didn't. The original recipe was from a TV food magazine modified by me. I said 4-6 servings that all depends on the size of your bun and how much you love onions. If you like "HOT" add more hot sauce"

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Melt the butter in a large skillet, add oil, medium heat.
Step 2
Add onions, stir a few times while the onions are cooking, cook until the onions are translucent and starting to brown,, apprx 15 minutes.
Step 3
Mix together the ketchup, vinegar, sugar and hot sauce. Add to the pan with the onions, stir well. Continue cooking until heated through
Step 4
Season with salt & pepper.
Step 5
Sprinkle on the chopped green onions.
Step 6
Serve on your hot dogs or as a side dish.
