Step 1: Melt the butter in a large skillet, add oil, medium heat.
Step 2: Add onions, stir a few times while the onions are cooking, cook until the onions are translucent and starting to brown,, apprx 15 minutes.
Step 3: Mix together the ketchup, vinegar, sugar and hot sauce. Add to the pan with the onions, stir well. Continue cooking until heated through
Step 4: Season with salt & pepper.
Step 5: Sprinkle on the chopped green onions.
Step 6: Serve on your hot dogs or as a side dish.
