Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a bowl combine the tequila and jalapeno and let stand for 2-4 hours; pour through a wire strainer into a bowl; discarding solids

Step 2

In a dish add 2 tablespoons lime juice. In another dish combine the sugar, lime rind, and the salt. Dip rims of 4 chilled 8-ounce glasses in the lime juice and then dip the glasses in the sugar mixture.

Step 3

In a blender add the infused tequila, honeydew and the rest of the ingredients (-agave syrup) and 3 tablespoons lime juice and process for 1 minute. Pour evenly into prepared glasses.

Very nice!!! I used serrano chile slices because its what I had in the fridge. This is a deliciously different Margarita - not overly sweet. Just right. The honeydew taste came through, though very subtle. It might depend on the melon itself. But what I really LOVED was the sugar/salt/lime zest rim. The best marg rim I've ever had! I did use regular sugar, though, because my turbinado is too coarse. Thanks for sharing, ellie!
