I halved this recipe but used the full envelope of onion soup and used 4 cups of water. I also added a bit of turnip along with the potatoes and this made for a delicious, hearty and filling soup. Hamburger soup is one of our favourites for a hearty soup on chilly winter night. The addition of the onion soup mix along with the ingredients came together to make for a hearty chunky soup that was enough different and so good that it has been added to my Favourite Soups cookbook.
