Step 1

Combine the turmeric, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg. cinnamon, star anise, fennel and vanilla in a medium saucepan and season with pepper and then stir in milk and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Step 2

Set aside for 5 minutes to infuse and then strain through a fine sieve into mugs or serving glasses and serve immediately.

As I checked the ingredients I was not completely sure that fennel seeds would not be to strong for this beverage. At the end I decided to all all the spices and some brown sugar as sweetener. After boiling and letting this soak, I sieved the mixture into two cups and .... WOW.... this was delicious! I almost forgot to say that I used soy milk for this delicious beverage and we enjoyed it very much!
