Step by Step Method
FOR THE PANCAKES
Step 1
Sift together the first 9 ingredients in a large bowl. Add egg, buttermilk, water, melted butter, and brown sugar, stirring until blended.
Step 2
For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup batter onto a hot, lightly greased griddle. Turn pancakes when the tops are covered with bubbles and edges look cooked. Serve 3 to a stack with Lemon Hard Sauce.
FOR THE LEMON HARD SAUCE
Step 3
Cream the butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add the lemon zest and juice; beat until smooth.
