Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cream butter until light.

Step 2

Cream in sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time.

Step 3

Beat in 1 cup flour, then add extracts and a little ginger ale.

Step 4

Continue adding flour, alternating with ginger ale, until all ingredients are used.

Step 5

Beating can be done by hand or with electric mixer until batter is smooth.

Step 6

Pour batter into two greased and floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pans or one greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

Step 7

Bake in preheated 275 degree

Step 8

Oven for one hour and 45 minutes, or until a knife or cake tester inserted in middle of cake comes out clean and cake has begun to shrink from sides of pan.

Step 9

Let cool in pan.

Thank you for sharing this lovely recipe Dee. I made 1/2 the recipe and baked it in a bundt pan. It was awesome. I made it for my husband; he and his sister loved it. Even my bil who doesn't always eat sweets said it was good. The pound cake was tall, light and sweet, with a great crumb. It was so delicious that my sil has asked for one for her birthday. Kudos to you on making it into my Best of 2021.
