Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a deep pot, melt one tablespoon of butter and sauté the garlic for 2 minutes. Do not allow to brown or burn.

Step 2

Add the cooked and peeled potatoes to the pot, plus the remaining butter, sour cream, salt and pepper. Mash thoroughly. If necessary, add a little milk.

Step 3

Taste and adjust seasoning. Fold in the cilantro and serve immediately.

Oh! Yum! I made these into twice baked potatoes...these potato boats were delicious...they came out nice and creamy and I didn't have to add any milk...just made them as posted but threw the mixture into the potato skins...made for "1st Time" tag game...
