Step by Step Method
Step 1
Combine apples, sugar and water in a saucepan.
Step 2
Bring to a boil.
Step 3
Cook for 3 minutes.
Step 4
Melt butter in a large saucepan.
Step 5
Add onions.
Step 6
Saute for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Step 7
Add potatoes, salt, cider and apple mixture, including any liquid.
Step 8
Cover and cook for 30 minutes, or until very soft.
Step 9
Serve hot.
