Step by Step Method

Step 1

Grease bottom and sides then line the bottom of a 10-inch tube pan with waxed paper or parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in applesace, then eggs beating until well combined. Beat in lemon and vanilla.

Step 3

In a bowl combine the flour with baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture alternately with orange juice. Using a wooden spoon stir in the candied fruit, coconut, raisins and nuts.

Step 4

Using clean hands press into tube pan. Bake in a preheated 300 degree F oven for 80-90 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
