Step 1

Make 4 shots of espresso.

Step 2

Place a scoop of ice cream in each bowl. Pour espresso over ice cream.

Step 3

Add Bailey's or Frangelico, if using.

Serve immediately.

If you do not have an espresso maker, you can substitute 3 tablespoons strong brewed coffee, or add 1 tablespoon espresso powder to 1/2 cup boiling water.

Step 7

Either pour the espresso over the ice cream and serve immediately, or serve the espresso on the side and let your guests pour it on themselves.

Mmmm this was so good, I used amarula instead of baileys and it worked perfectly

I first had this a couple of years ago in an Italian restaurant and loved it. I used Amaretto for the liqueur and served with an almond biscotti. Will be making this again.
