Step by Step Method

Step 1

In large bowl, combine eggs, 1/2 cup of the sour cream and milk.

Step 2

Whisk hard.

Step 3

Stir in bread crumbs, onion, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4

Add beef and mix well.

Step 5

Place in 13x9 inch baking dish.

Step 6

Bake uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for about 1 1/4 hours, or till meat thermometer registers 170 degrees.

Step 7

Let cool 10 minutes.

Step 8

Remove from pan.

Step 9

Meanwhile, in medium pan, stir together the remaining sour cream and dry gravy mix.

Step 10

Add water as called for on package.

Step 11

Cook according to package directions.

Step 12

Slice meat loaf and serve with the mashed potatoes and gravy.

This has got to be the ultimate comfort food recipe! The meatloaf was very, very good, though I must admit I missed the catsup topping that I usually have. But that gravy!!! Oh my gosh, I could just drink it. And how easy was that? Just doctoring up a gravy mix. It was delicious, and I could see burying some swedish meatballs in it, or using it as an easy base for beef stroganoff. This is going into my Best of All Time recipes - thanks so much for sharing!
