"Served in almost every Portuguese home, and every family does it a little differently. Sometimes there's tomatoes, sometimes wine, sometimes chourico. This version is from Steph and Patty. It's pretty basic, but feel free to add the Portuguese ingredient of your choice to flavor it up even more! See the note regarding the parsley."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Put the oil in a pan and let it heat up. Add onions and saute.
Step 2
Add in Pimenta Moida and paprika. Saute for a minute to let the flavors develop, then add the favas.
Step 3
Add the parsley. You can leave the parsley bunch unchopped and just place it on top of the favas, or stir it in if using chopped parsley.
Step 4
Simmer for 45 minutes or more. The longer they cook, the better they taste!
