"This is an old recipe that I got out of a local church cookbook. This is a nice hamburger casserole that I have been making for years."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Step 2

Lightly Butter a shallow 2 quart baking dish; set aside.

Step 3

In a skillet, cook together the hamburger, green pepper and onion. Drain any liquid from skillet.

Step 4

Add the salt and pepper, cream corn, cream of mushroom, and cream cheese to the hamburger mixture; mix well.

Step 5

Mix in the cooked noodles to the hamburger mixture; mix thoroughly.

Step 6

Add the hamburger-noodle mixture into a lightly buttered 2 quart shallow casserole dish.

Step 7

Cover with foil and bake for 35-45 minutes.

Step 8

* Sometimes, I also add a 1/2 cup of fresh slice mushrooms to this dish just for something extra.

I really enjoyed this comfort food meal. I don't like peppers, so I used a whole onion and added in some green onion. And my corn was whole corn instead of creamed corn, so I used a little of the liquid in the can to make up for not being creamed. Otherwise I stuck to the recipe. I made 4 very hearty servings (big enough to go back for seconds and be an entire meal). I can definitely see making this again when I want easy food in the fridge for a few days. Made for Pick Me tag in the games forum.
