  • Use fresh tomatoes for the best flavor. If you can't find fresh tomatoes, you can substitute canned tomatoes.
  • Choose a sweet onion like Walla Walla for the best flavor. If you can't find Walla Walla onions, you can use any sweet onion.

  • Substitute red onion for sweet onion. Red onions are more pungent than sweet onions, so they will add a spicier flavor to the salsa. This will give the salsa a more flavorful kick.
  • Substitute lime zest for the lime juice. Lime zest will add a more intense citrus flavor to the salsa, and the zest will also provide a nice texture contrast to the other ingredients.

Mango Salsa Replace tomatoes with 2 cups diced mango, reduce the lemon juice to 1 tablespoon, and add 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper.

What a wonderful salsa! We loved the hit of citrus. It had the perfect amount of heat. It was great with chips and on our fajitas.

I get Vadalia onions all summer long and we enjoy their mild sweet taste. They were perfect for this yummy salsa! I made it ahead of time to let the ingredients blend, and we emptied the bowl! Great with tortilla chips or scoops, and also as a Bruchetta topping!

So good and the addition of the coriander and cumin made it just enough different from our regular salsa to send it over the top. Quick, easy and delicious, this will be our go to salsa from now on. Wish I could post photos here to show the lovely, bright colors this has. I also cut the tomatoes smaller than directed, but thought we'd prefer similar size for the entire recipe, but that sure didn't change the flavor

Excellent! We thought his was a stellar salsa with lots of flavor. The citrus and cumin made this above average. I did chop the tomatoes smaller than suggested. I'll definitely be making this again!

This is one of the best fresh salsa recipes I have ever had. I served it up this weekend at a pot-luck birthday party and it disappeared in no time! This will be made often here.
