"Hubby always asks for these for our family's Christmas Eve Buffet. I like it with the green pepper, because it offsets the sweetness, although hubby likes it better without. Tastes best made the day before. Adapted from the Good Housekeeping cookbook Mom gave me when I got married."

Step by Step Method

There are a couple ways to do this.

Thawed Meatballs:

Preheat crock pot on high. Combine sauce ingredients until heated through. Add meatballs and stir. Transfer to preheated crock pot and reduce heat to low for 1-2 hours.

Frozen Meatballs:
Step 5
Cook sauce ingredients in large pot on stove-top over medium-high heat. Stir in frozen meatballs, then transfer to crock pot. Reduce heat and cook 4-5 hours, stirring every hour.
Step 6
MakeAhead: Follow either method, but only cook until meatballs are heated through. Then cool and refrigerate overnight. Reheat next day in crockpot.
