- When selecting shrimp, make sure to check for freshness before buying.
- When purchasing asparagus, look for firm stalks with closed tips.
- Substitute the shrimp for chicken: Chicken is a leaner and more affordable protein than shrimp, making it a great alternative for budget-conscious households. It also has a mild flavor that will not overpower the dish.
- Substitute the mushrooms for bell peppers: Bell peppers are a great source of vitamins and minerals, and their sweet flavor will help to balance the richness of the creamy sauce. They also add a nice crunch to the dish.
Vegetarian Option Omit the seafood, and instead add 1/2 cup of diced red bell pepper, 1/2 cup of diced green bell pepper, 1/2 cup of diced yellow bell pepper, and 1/2 cup of diced carrots to the pan with the onions. Saute for 3 minutes, then add cream, half and half, onion and garlic powder, and salt and pepper, to taste. Bring to boil, then add the grated cheese and mix in. Turn heat down to medium, and let reduce for about 5-6 minutes, stirring frequently. Add pasta into mixture, mix well with a couple of forks, and serve.
Garlic Bread - This classic side dish is the perfect accompaniment to Dan's Seafood & Asparagus Fettuccine In Creamy Alfredo Sauce. The garlicky, buttery flavors of the garlic bread will pair perfectly with the creamy, cheesy sauce of the pasta dish.
Roasted Broccoli: Roasted broccoli is a great side dish to serve with Dan's Seafood & Asparagus Fettuccine In Creamy Alfredo Sauce. The crunchy texture of the roasted broccoli will provide a nice contrast to the creamy, cheesy sauce of the pasta dish. Roasting the broccoli will also bring out its natural sweetness, which will complement the flavors of the dish.
