Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a shallow dish place the salmon fillets and then add the milk; turn to coat and let stand for 10 minutes; drain.

Step 2

Meanwhile in a pie dish or shallow dish combine the next 5 ingredients (pecans - pepper). Dip fillets in mixture, coating both sides, pressing mixture into fish.

Step 3

In a cast iron skillet over medium high heat add the oil and then brown the salmon on both sides. Place in oven at 400 degrees F and bake for 8-10 minutes or until fish begins to flake with a fork and is done.

I loved the cooking technique for this and the salmon was cooked perfectly! We all loved the nutty crust, too. Ours came out too salty. I used Lawry's Seasoned Salt (and only about 1 1/2 T because I ran out). Maybe a different brand of seasoning salt would make it taste less salty.? This recipe is worth trying again with a lot less seasoning salt and/or a different brand. I'll experiment! Thank you for posting!
