Step 1

Brown ground beef,garlic and onion.

Step 2

Add beef mixture to crock pot with remaining ingredients, except cheese, and mix well.

Step 3

Cook on Low for 3 1/2 hours.

Step 4

Add cheese when the goulash is done, and steam until the cheese is melted.

Great comfort food. I messed up a little bit. I made 1/2 the recipe and it filled up my 1-quart crock pot. As it turns out....only the macaroni at the bottom plumped up and the macaroni on the top was still dry and raw. So I had to go into recovery mode. lol. I added some more liquid and finished it off on the stove top. Part of the macaroni was a little mushy but it still tasted good. Next time I'll do it right and use a larger crock pot. Thanks for sharing this nice keeper, Dee.
