"From box of clipping if you have a newer slow cooker you may be able to cook on low for 6 hours . This was an older recipe and the crock pots seemed to cook slower"

Step 1

Dredge meat in flour and brown in oil

Step 2

Put in crock pot

Step 3

With coffee ,water ,molasses ,Worcestershire sauce and seasoning

Step 4

Cook on high for 4 hours then add vegetables

Step 5

Cook another 2 hours

Step 6

Last hour mix a slurry of flour and water and cook until thickened and vegetables tender

Step 7

Add butter

I made this and halved the recipe. A good old recipe that used what I have at home. I only did the first step for 3 hours and it was plenty long enough. I figure the recipe was probably for the older crock pots. 5 hours all total.
