"This one is a conglomeration of a couple of recipes originally for beef short ribs, but with completely different sauce (of my own creation). If you don't have 10 hours to cook on low, you can start it on high, using one hour on high for every two hours on low, but no more than five hours on high. I use this same recipe for regular bone-in pork ribs, just reduce the cooking time to about 8 hours."

Step 1
Rinse and pat dry ribs; layer in a large crock pot.
Step 2
Combine remaining ingredients in a large saucepan; heat to boiling, then reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
Step 3
Pour sauce over ribs and stir to completely coat.
Step 4
Cook on low for 10 hours, stirring and skimming fat from surface occasionally.
