Step by Step Method
Step 1
Place onions in a 2 quart pot.
Step 2
Pour enough wine to cover half of the onions.
Step 3
Add the bay leaf, thyme and salt.
Step 4
Simmer and stir for 25 minutes.
Step 5
Add the cream and bring to a boil; reduce heat and cook until thickened.
Step 6
Remove from heat and stir in the butter. Remove bay leaf and serve.
