"This cowboy stew is a cross between chili and stew. It is wonderful on cold days and is a very hearty meal. I recommend that you don't skip the ranch beans, they really make the recipe."

What a great easy recipe. I got it all in the pot in the AM and then cooked it 45 minutes before dinner. You are right "Don't leave out the Ranch Beans" - they really perk up the flavor. I cut the recipe in half and the only other change was I used fresh tomatoes as I had a surplus I needed to use up. Thanks CountryDiva for a "real" comfort food dinner.
