"I had some leftover meatloaf and I wanted a sandwich.But not an ordinary meatloaf sandwich,so I just "kicked it up a notch"The taste you will get depends on what type of meatloaf you use.But that's half the fun in making this particular recipe.:)For the slices,cut meatloaf into 1/4 to 1/3 inch pieces.You can either make a sandwich or serve with mashed potatoes and a green veggie.If you make a sandwich,please don't forget the mayo ;) Submitted to "ZAZZ" on July 31st.2012"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix together egg and milk in a small shallow dish or bowl,set aside.

Step 2

In another small shallow dish or bowl mix together flour and seasonings.

Step 3

Heat oil in skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Dip meatloaf into egg/milk mixture,then coat both sides of meatloaf in seasoned flour.

Step 5

Fry in in oil until both sides are golden brown.


No special items needed.

Thank you for sharing your lovely recipe Chef shapeweaver. This was so good. I used leftover meatloaf from earlier in the week. It crisped up perfectly and tasted great. Served on Italian Bun with Romain Lettuce, mayo, ketchup and chimichuri sauce. We will enjoy this treat again. Made for Best of 2014 Tag Game.

I've had meatloaf sandwiches, but never fried the meatloaf!! I used a meatloaf that had horseradish in it, and used arugula for the salad. Tomatoes aren't fresh around here right now, so I left that off my sandwich. Super yummy lunch! Thanks for sharing....made for Best of 2014 game on Yuku.

What a great way to change it up for leftover meatloaf!! I made this as written, but chose the option of not making it into a sandwich. I served it with some leftover green beans with bacon/onion/vinegar, for lunch. Thanks for sharing the recipe!! Happy cooking!!!

Delicious treat! I used leftover turkey meatloaf. This was quick to make and very tasty. I like the little bit of crispiness on the outside of the meatloaf. I chose to eat mine without bread and it was still great! Thank you.

Made as written for the Culinary Quest & the Agents of QUEST - I made your SI BBQ Meatloaf last nite for our dinner & then used the leftovers today to make this inventive & tasty take on a meatloaf sammie. I don't think I'll ever be able to eat the std "garden variety" meatloaf sammie again. This was great! Thx for sharing this recipe w/us. It is sure to be a regular at our table, an encore has already been requested by my DH & I didn't forget the mayo. :-)

What's not to like? Pure down home Southern goodness. I was able to make 2 sandwiches with the egg and flour using 4 slices of Mom Florence's Meatloaf.
