"Silverside is also known as corned beef. Cooked this way in the slow cooker, the beef has a lovely flavor of ginger with a subtle hint of cloves. Serve with mashed potatoes and carrots, and then a cheese or white sauce. This beef makes for wonderful sandwiches next day or served cold with a salad during summer. You can always add 1/2 cinnamon stick or some fresh herbs to the cooker if you like to give some extra flavor."

Love the ease of this recipe! The results and flavor was more than loved. Added a cinnamon stick and a couple of slices of fresh ginger and a bit of ground. Because my corned beef came with a seasoning packet that included bay leaf, whole coriander, peppercorns, decided that I couldn't go wrong by adding it. I also doubled the number of whole cloves. It came out so tender due to the slow cooking. So good! Thank you, Tis, for sharing. Made it for the Billboard tag.

Oh wow this is good. I've never done anything with corned beef except the regular. Which I like. This was different. I halved the recipe. I bought the smallest I could. Used the same amount of cloves. One starr anise and added some whole coriander. The ginger ale gives a good flavor to it. This is a keeper. It's been a busy day and I was gonna try and at least have a salad. I think I'll just eat this on a sandwich and be really fat and happy.
