Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2.5 kilograms corned beef (fat removed, silverside)
  • 1.25 liters ginger ale (or beer)
  • 1 onion (140 gram onion, whole)
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1/2 tablespoons dried gingerroot (lightly dried)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (cracked)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Stud the whole onion with the cloves.

  • Step 2: Place the prepared silverside into the slow cooker.

  • Step 3: Place in the studded onion & sprinkle with the dried ginger, season with cracked pepper. Pour over the ginger beer or ale to cover the meat.

  • Step 4: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the silverside is tender to your liking.
