Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a saucepan, whisk flour into the milk and place on stovetop. Cook over medium heat until it becomes smooth and turns to a paste. Set aside and let it cool completely.
Step 2
After paste has cooled completely, beat butter and sugar together until well blended, then add flour paste mixture one small scoop at a time, mix in the vanilla.
Step 3
Frost your cake.
NOTE for less frosting use these amounts: 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour, 1 cup milk, 1 cup softened butter, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
