I was fixing to have some french toast and remembered seeing this here so I did a search and decided to make it. I cut the recipe in half and had enough for us. It was a welcome change to my usual very simple style of cooking for breakfast. We loved it and will have it many more times!

I can't believe how good these are! What a great new way to fix french toast. I will make these for us on a regular basis. I have had them with syrup and butter, and cinnamon and sugar and butter. I am going to make them next with a fruit sauce on top. YUM!

I made these as stated except for the liquor. I just poured syrup over the top with an extra sprinkling of cinnamon. Very good and something different for a change!

We had this for a delicious breakfast and both my husband and I loved everything about the French toast. These taste so much better than plain French toast and is the only way we will have them after having them like this! We poured just a tad of real maple syrup on top of ours.
