Step by Step Method
Step 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees
Step 2
Grease and flour two layer pans, 9 or 8 inch pans.

Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well. Pour into prepared baking pan(s).

Bake 40 - 45 min for rectangle cake, 30 - 35 for layer cake, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

To make filling, stir together sugar, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan

Add water

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils

Boil and stir 1 minute

Remove from heat and stir in butter. Cool

For Glaze: Heat all ingredients over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted

Cool slightly
Step 12
To assemble: Top bottom layer with filling and sprinkle with nuts

Top with second layer
Step 14
Spread chocolate glaze over top of cake
