"I have made this a few times, and the family have really liked it. This is a nice variation of the recipe I usually make from Cadbury Kitchen. Served warm as a dessert or cold as a slice. Servings will depend on how big you cut the slice."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Combine the flour, oats, sugar and coconut in a bowl.

Step 2

Preheat oven to 160°C.

Step 3

Combine the butter and golden syrup in a saucepan and gently heat, stirring occasionally, until melted and smooth then stir in the bicarbonate soda, add to the flour mixture and stir to combine. Cool for 10 minutes then stir through the chocolate. Press into the base of a greased and paper lined 28cm x 18cm slice pan (ensure paper extends 5cm above the top of the pan).

Step 4

Bake in a moderately slow oven 160°C for 25-30 minutes or until golden.

Step 5

Cool on a wire rack. Cut into pieces then serve or when completely cold store in an airtight container until required.
