"Just my twist on a very classic dish, but it is really tasty. The chicken is marinated in a mix of buttermilk, honey, red pepper flakes and mustard overnight so it just melts. Look for the recipe posted here on Zazz - Buttermilk, Honey Dijon Grilled Chicken. The ham is a honey baked ham, but, I have also added a slice of proscuitto for a little extra flavor. Thin sliced onions, swiss cheese and of course the dressing; which again a mix of honey, dijon mustard and mayo. Served on your favorite roll. You could use any grilled chicken or even baked chicken for this, but just the extra flavor from the marinade was really good. I really think if you are making sandwiches for dinner or for a party, and they are a main part of the meal, why not go all out and make them extra good. Delicious!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Chicken ... Whatever method you prefer to grill your chicken is fine. Now, as I mentioned, I used my recipe for Buttermilk, Honey Dijon Grilled Chicken, but you can just grill plain chicken or even oven bake if you want. Once the chicken is done, let it rest before slicing. And again, you can use breasts or thighs - but make sure to cover the chicken with foil to keep it warm. You could easily make this a day or so ahead and reheat for a minute in the microwave.

Step 2

Rolls, Ham, Proscuitto... The ham and proscuitto need to be warmed, the rolls toasted and the cheese melted. So - you can use your oven, or I used the grill. Heat up the oven to Broil, and add a sheet of foil to a small baking sheet. Add the proscuitto and ham in individuals piles so they all heat up, and warm on the second shelf down - so they don't brown, just warm and cook a couple of minutes. Also, as the ham warms up, add the rolls, cut side up so they can toast.

Step 3

Once the rolls are toasted, remove and top each bottom half with a very light slather of the sauce. Top with a slice of warm pancetta, onion slices and swiss cheese and back under the broiler - second shelf down so the cheese melts but doesn't burn.

Step 4

Sandwich ... Once the cheese has melted, remove from the broiler and top with the ham, thin sliced chicken, and finish with the top roll, also slathered with some of the sauce.

Step 5

Serve ... Add some fries or chips and a pickle and ENJOY! You could also serve this with a bowl of soup for dinner.
