We enjoyed this cake when we visited twissis in Iceland. It makes a nice dense, moist cake that was served with ice cream. Lovely recipe.

Made as written for your Football Pool Wk 8 win - While the texture & flavor of this cake is exceptional, I've been struggling w/my review. The cake overflowed my tube pan by a fairly lrg amt, but this is the 2nd time that has occurred & I plan to ck pan size, oven temps, etc. That said, my review is for the cake only as Siggi prefers cake lightly dusted w/powdered sugar or plain w/ice cream. I wanted the cake halved for us & a later guest occasion, so my pic shows our half. The 2nd half was frozen plain & will be glazed per the recipe to serve guests from Australia. I will post a 2nd pic & amend my review as needed & she will review it separately. Thx for posting this recipe & for the patience my review requires. (EDITED TO ADD ON 11/28/17 - I made this cake a 2nd time, served it w/the whipped cream topping & was stunned over how good it was. I used Bailey's instead of Kahlua. It's not a glaze in the true sense, but I nearly grabbed a spoon to devour the rest of the cream topping. I'm sure I'll make other cakes in my lifetime, but this topping will never be replaced as my go-to for the whipped topping genre. YUM!)
