"Needed just a small amount for a salad, and this quickie recipe for any type of candied nut did the trick! But please be aware... you need to work quickly once the nuts are done cooking, you don't want to give the nuts a chance to turn into a wad of inseparable delicious goodness unless you are the only person who will be enjoying that tasty wad!!!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat a medium non-stick skillet over medium heat, add all the ingredients at once.

Step 2

Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently so your mixture doesn't burn. When the sugar starts caramelizing (melting), stir constantly until all sugar has caramelized and nuts are coated.

Step 3

Transfer immediately onto a sheet of parchment paper and spread the nuts out. None should touch. Using two forks will help alot.

You MUST move quickly from the moment you pour the nuts onto the parchment paper. They will harden very fast.

Step 4

Let the coating harden for 5-7 minutes before using.

I've never stored these, but I imagine if you did, you might want to put them in an airtight container, separating layers with wax or parchment paper.
