Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped (pieces, or walnuts)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons unsalted butter
  • 1/32 teaspoon ground cinnamon, dash (OPTIONAL, just a DASH!)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat a medium non-stick skillet over medium heat, add all the ingredients at once.

  • Step 2: Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently so your mixture doesn't burn. When the sugar starts caramelizing (melting), stir constantly until all sugar has caramelized and nuts are coated.

  • Step 3: Transfer immediately onto a sheet of parchment paper and spread the nuts out. None should touch. Using two forks will help alot.

  • You MUST move quickly from the moment you pour the nuts onto the parchment paper. They will harden very fast.

  • Step 4: Let the coating harden for 5-7 minutes before using.

  • I've never stored these, but I imagine if you did, you might want to put them in an airtight container, separating layers with wax or parchment paper.
