"I love Hoisin sauce which my DH refers to as poison, and that is not because he hates it, its just because when the kids were young, they had difficulty pronouncing the H and ST sounds. So we often had snake (steak) with poison (hoisin) sauce. Back to the beans. I have had a bumper crop of bush beans this year and have been coming up with different ways to enjoy them."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Wash beans and chop the section off that connects to the stem.

Step 2

Bring to cups of water to a boil in a pot big enough to place a mesh strainer in it above the water so as to steam the green beans, or use a vehicle meant for steaming.

Step 3

Steam green beans for 10-15 minutes or until desired doneness.

Step 4

Remove from heat and place in bowl.

Step 5

Add butter and Hoison sauce.

Step 6

Mix together and serve hot. (I like them cold too).
