Step by Step Method
Step 1
Combine peas and water in a large pot, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
Step 2
Add remaining ingredients and simmer 2-3 hours or until peas are soft and the soup thickens, adding water as needed.
Step 3
Add lemon juice at end serve with lemon wedges.
